Term 1: My identity

In this first unit, students revisit key topics seen in Y8, starting with the alphabet and developing towards talking about themselves. They consolidate the use of to be and to have, as well as how to form the present tense.

The assessment will test reading and writing skills as well as vocabulary knowledge.

will focus greatly on Literacy, with verb forms at the present tense. This will encourage students to reflect on languages, other than English, that they are familiar with, and to make connections between these languages and Greek.

Term 2: My food and the weather

Students expand their knowledge to discuss their everyday life. At the end of this unit, they are able to add details such as the weather or where they are from. They look in details at the use of preposstion of place.

Term 3: Daily routine including school

This unit is dedicated to deepening their knowledge of different time frame when discussing their daily routine.

Term 4: Cultural life

Students learn how to discuss different aspect of cultural life. They will explore different Greek celebration. It is an opportunity to learn more about the topic of food, through healthy and unhealthy habits. The grammar focus is on the furture tense.
